Favorite Sailing Spot:

West Meadow, NY- best spot for freestyle and onshore wave riding the east coast can offer. Full power cold fronts in the fall and winter light the place up while a series of sand bars shape the waves into long, clean lines. The most unique feature of WM is the U shape of the bay which creates 3 distinct wave breaks and allows wave riding and jumping on both tacks. Of course, at low tide the water is glass flat between the sand bars which is perfect for freestyle. If Mike Burns is already rigging down when I pull in, it’s gonna be a good day.

Favorite Rig Setup:

4.4 North Sails Idol LTD and Fanatic Skate 101

Favorite Sesh Fuel

American Hero, but I’m usually in a rush so anything will do

Dream Session:

I’ve always wanted to sail Cabo Verde. The wave looks fast and clean
-What you are working on now: Mostly new school power moves and combination tricks. I get in the waves whenever possible but conditions in NY favor freestyle.

Biggest Windsurfing Pet Peeve:

Non- windy days.

Scariest moment sailing ever:

Taking a fin through my wrist in San Carlos after a failed backloop. Just barely missed the vein and required several stitches- all while several hours from the nearest hospital. It took a solid two months for me to get my head right about sailing again.

Best Move(s)?

Hmm- they’re all pretty hard but the No Handed Flaka 720 stands out to me.

What else from NoLimitz?

Nothing! The masts are super light and don’t break! I’ve put them through hell and they continue to amaze me.
